This spacious five bedroom lodge was built in Canada from Canadian white pine, then disassembled and shipped to New Zealand where it was rebuilt on 11 hectares of rolling pastureland and native bush, home to kiwis and a large number of native birds as well as two resident Peacocks.
Only a 25 minute drive from the historical coastal town of Kerikeri, arriving at the entrance gate of 92 Pukepoto Road, near Okaihau, you drive down a long narrow, beautifully tree lined, gravel driveway, crossing a delightful ford, then arching alongside the QEII National Trust native bush, before arriving at Yellowstone Lodge at the top of the ridge.
The lodge consists of the main house and owner’s quarters at the west end of the two storey dwelling, while on the east wing second floor, will be found four spacious and tastefully decorated guest rooms with comfortable King and Queen size beds. The two north facing rooms, with their own large private balconies and en-suite bathrooms, look over two of the four large ponds found on the property and offer views of the verdant green hills and valleys, with only distant cattle and wild goats to be seen.
There is a communal Games Room for guests to enjoy a selection of games. Also a Pool Table on the lower level.
There is a large lounge with its impressive stone fireplace, where you may sit and relax.
Guests do share the main house with the home’s hosts, but as the dwelling is a huge 736 sq metres, there is still plenty of room for complete privacy.
Yellowstone Lodge provides pick up and drop off from and to Kerikeri airport. Please call them to inquire about terms and conditions.
