The Duke Marlborough Hotel

The Duke of Marlborough Hotel has a history dating back to 1827 starting its life as an unlicensed grog shop. Located on the Russell Waterfront has quality accommodation, an award winning restaurant and amazing sunsets.

Founded in 1827, the Duke of Marlborough Hotel is engraved in history books on account of it being New Zealand’s oldest hotel and pub establishment. It still retains an Old British charm and this permeates through its service and rooms. The Duke of Marlborough Hotel is located in the Far North of the North Island in Russell. The hotel is a three levelled accommodation consisting of 26 rooms and has four different types of room options Small room, Standard Room, Sundeck room and Waterfront room. The Waterfront rooms are newly refurbished and the Waitangi Grounds and Paihia can be seen across the sea. Complimentary continental breakfast is served to guests in the morning. The in-house restaurant at the Duke of Marlborough Hotel primarily uses local ingredients especially freshly caught seafood including crayfish and Orongo bay oysters. The Bar has an assortment of New Zealand wines and local beer that can satisfy the most discriminating taste. You can also catch up with latest sports at the bar’s theatre sized Plasma TV.
