Pigeon’s Rest – Holiday Accommodation

Wow! What can we say on this beautiful oasis, thanks for letting us stay in this home away from home!

Our spot is in an exceedingly private rural setting and has an amazing view. We are at 183B Horeke Road Okaihau, where the cycle trail to Horeke passes by the top of our ROW.

Setback on a long private driveway, our fully fenced section with post and rail on the front face, has native bush to the sides and to the rear, including Taraire, Puriri, Kohekohe, Nikau and Totara.

The caravan is a luxury night’s sleep for two but can accommodate up to four with a pull-out settee in the lounge.  If the group is bigger there are tent sites for campers or while the parents enjoy the comfort of the caravan.  There is also room for a campervan.

We are pet friendly ! Offer fresh vegies from the abundant garden and a small orchard.  We are happy to provide a shuttle service and have a good local knowledge of the see and do around the area.

Our caravan is a 28 Foot (8.5 Metres)  with a bedroom (double bed), kitchen/dining/lounge and toilet and shower (shub) plus an outdoor shower. This is on solar or mains power, has gas cooking/oven, fridge/freezer, Freeview TV, Wi-Fi and Phone charging. Awning out (subject to wind conditions), available BBQ, overall is very comfortable.

Your hosts, Joan and Terry have lived in Okaihau area for the past sixteen years, prior to that Kaikohe, and the other member of their family is a very friendly Staffy dog called Gus,  who is often part of the welcoming party. Joan is formally a Taranaki-ite, and Terry a far Far Northerner. Both well known locally and know the local history as well.

We are looking forward to hearing from you.
